According to the story related to the Gazette by Mr. Kinkaid, the archaeologists of the Smithsonian Institute, which is financing the expeditions, have made discoveries which almost conclusively prove that the race which inhabited this mysterious cavern, hewn in solid rock by human hands, was of oriental origin, possibly from Egypt, tracing back to Rameses. If their theories are borne out by the translation of the tablets engraved with hieroglyphics, the mystery of the prehistoric peoples of North America, their ancient arts, who they were and whence they came, will be solved. Egypt and the Nile, and Arizona and the Colorado will be linked by a historical chain running back to ages which staggers the wildest fancy of the fictionist.

The Myth of Lemuria

The Hindu tablets were supposed to have been written in the "lost language of the Naacal". A simple search of the Internet or any encyclopedia reveals that the "Naacal" never existed outside of Churchward's imagination; every reference to them is linked to Churchward—no one knows where they lived or when they lived, and they left absolutely no evidence of their existence outside of the tablets Churchward claimed to have found—and they don't appear to exist, either.

Archaeological Coverups

Who were the Mound Builders? No one was sure. But, in a period when the prevailing attitude was that Native Americans were primitive and savage, whites didn't believe they could possibly have been the Mound Builders. When Thomas came to the Bureau of Ethnology he was a "pronounced believer in the existence of a race of 'Mound Builders,' distinct from the American Indians."

I have been composing music since I was in high school (unless you count, "How Would You Like To Go To Kandor?" which I wrote in 3rd grade. ("Kandor" was a city on the planet Krypton.) The music courses I took in junior college under George Champion didn't deter me from a love of music. (I'm just kidding George—and please email me!!!)

Concerts

I have friends who've been to hundreds of concerts. I, on the other hand, have been to enough to count on the fingers of two hands (with a few fingers left over). But that doesn't mean I don't like to attend. It just means I can't usually afford the price of modern concert tickets!

Novels

I started writing stories when I was in kindergarten. Those early tales were mostly about going for a drive with my family and filling the car tank with gasoline. (Gulf gasoline, to be specific; even in kindergarten, I strove for detailed realism.)

Republican Corruption in the Bush Era

Once upon a time, the Democratic Party was the "Party of Corruption". But Democrats voted those bastards out, because, for Liberals, honest government is far more important than party loyalty. Republican voters, on the other hand, keep voting against their own self-interests because they would rather believe their media leaders (Rush Limbaugh and Fox "News") than actually do any research on their own. Poor dears.
