The album's closer—every voice we had, on the biggest note we could find.
Estimated reading time: 3 minute(s) (486 words)

This is the album's closer, and it's built to be one: full company, every voice we had, the biggest arrangement on the record. After two choruses of straightforward hometown-and-flag pride, the encore verse widens the lens on purpose—"black and white and yellow and red," arms open to the whole world instead of just the one street the rest of the album keeps circling back to. It felt like the right note to end on.

Where Freedom Finds Its Song

The Paul S Cilwa Project, full company

Paul S Cilwa

There's a sunrise over America,
Painting gold across the land,
And it shines like God's own promise
That our hearts will understand.
Every hope we hold together
Makes the weary world feel great—
And we stand as one, proud daughters and sons
Of these United States.

[Chorus]
Where freedom finds its song,
We'll raise our voices strong.
From the prairies wide to the oceanside,
We'll carry the tune along.
With the marching bands behind us
And the faith that keeps us strong—
We'll stand as one beneath the sun
Where freedom finds its song.

There's a heartbeat in America,
In the cities, towns, and farms,
Where the workers build tomorrow
With their courage and their arms.
Every hand that lifts a banner
Knows the road is long and straight—
But we walk it proud, with our heads unbowed,
In these United States.

[Chorus]
Where freedom finds its song,
We'll keep the nation strong.
From the rolling mills to the daffodils,
We'll sing it all night long.
With the eagle's wings above us
And the people marching on—
We'll shine the way to brighter days
Where freedom finds its song.

Maybe storms will shake the valley,
Maybe shadows cross the land…
But the melody of courage
Still is ours to understand.
So we'll gather close together,
Every voice a hopeful throng—
And trust in God to guide us
Where freedom finds its song.

[Chorus]
Where freedom finds its song,
We all belong, lifelong.
From the mountain air to the county fair,
We'll sing it proud and strong.
With the stars and stripes before us
And the faith that keeps us strong—
We'll rise anew, red, white, and true,
Where freedom finds its song.

Where freedom…
Finds its song.

There's a rainbow over America,
Black and white and yellow and red,
Every hand that reaches skyward
Knows the words our founders said.
Now we open arms to all the world,
Hoping peace will find its gate—
For we're brothers 'neath these colors,
Sons and daughters of the States.

[Chorus]
Where freedom finds its song,
We all belong, lifelong.
From the mountain air to the county fair,
We'll sing it proud and strong.
With the stars and stripes before us
And the faith that keeps us strong—
We'll rise anew, red, white, and true,
Where freedom finds its song.
