Meanwhile, my pal Mike Parry, wanted to write a song with me, a humorous ditty
about an old lady who rode a motorcycle. We both worked on the lyrics; I did the
melody and demo recording, using Marian's organ and recording equipment to do it.
We also filled out the Library of Congress paperwork and were granted a copyright!
(So, in other news, the Library of Congress has a 3-inch reel-to-reel tape of
me singing this song!)
There are other songs in this album that also came out of the Marian Sessions;
I'll point that out on their pages.
Granny we know you love your Honda so
Granny it's not right to ride away at night
And make us sad and blue
'Cause you didn't take the kids too
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
It's not safe for a woman your age to roam alone
Moving on your 750 with training wheels
Always pressing 90 with the fuzz at your heels
Tearing up the road and burning up the street
Roaming this country with the world at your feet oh
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
It's not safe for a woman your age to roam alone
Dragging by the hospital at 135
And when you've passed there's not a patient there left alive
That 80-year-old hippie that preaches love and peace
The landlord said if he don't go we're gonna lose our lease so
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
It's not safe for a woman your age to roam alone
With your Mickey Mouse helmet and your Minnie Mouse shirt
Moving with the gang you're a regular flirt
You wave your steel chain when people come near
And driving by the house everybody can hear us
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
It's not safe for a woman your age to roam alone
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
It's not safe for a woman your age to roam alone
Granny, Granny bring your Honda home
Granny, Grandma bring your Honda home
