Magic in Your Eyes

In 1972, magic really did seem to be in the air. Bewitched was still on the air, and I Dream of Jeannie was still in reruns. Some people were claiming to be witches, and Wiccans were coming out of the forest and into the open. So when I needed a song to impress my bride, I wrote this one.

Magic in Your Eyes

By Paul S Cilwa

Lyrics

[Verse]
There was magic in your eyes,
I could tell it from the start;
And before the night was over,
There was magic in my heart.

[Verse]
There was magic all around us,
I could feel it in the air.
There was magic in the stars, the moon—
There was magic everywhere.

[Chorus]
There's a wonder in the night,
In the way your eyes align;
Every heartbeat feels enchanted
When your magic touches mine.

[Verse]
When I first saw you,
I saw that sparkle in your eyes.
But I never knew what it could do,
Until you put me wise.

[Verse]
That it was magic like an aura
Lighting you from stem to start
There was magic in your eyes that night
That cast a spell on my heart.

[Chorus]
All the starlight seems to shimmer
When your gaze is meeting mine;
Every whisper feels like sorcery—
Every moment feels divine.

[Break]

[Final Chorus]
Now I know just what that spark was,
And the spell you cast was kind;
There was magic in your eyes that night—
And now the magic's mine.
